Palos Verdes Estates

I was able to finish up my work with some time to spare.  With my wife out of town on a business trip, I had the night to myself.  The night before I saw online some amazing sunset pictures.  So I had a feeling that that tonight would be the same.  I was totally right!

I decided to go to the cliffs in Palos Verdes Estates.  On my way, I stopped off to get some food from the Malaga Cove Market.  Grabbed a sandwich, water and some munchies.  When I got to my spot I was disappointed that I forgot my beach chair at home.  That was a bummer.

This spot is located about 1 mile away from Palos Verdes High School.  The school of my brother back in the day.  As it got closer to the time of the sunset, a crowd started to build.  I would guess that the crowd was mostly locals that walked by to get some exercise and take in the view.

As I finished my dinner, I was taken by nature.  I could hear the waves and crickets.  I could smell the salt in the air that had been kicked up from the crashing waves.  I was taken by the streaks in the sky with flights arriving and departing from LAX.  I could see all of this from my birds eye view on the Peninsula.

My favorite time of day is when the sun is setting.  This is when the planet seems to be changing, and if you pay attention, you can feel it.  I will stopping by Palos Verdes Estates to watch the sunset more often, especially since summer is right around the corner.
